HUMANS OF SURRENDER
LATEST STORIES

Matthew

"He was the local fire chief.  I thought I could trust him.  I purchased a used wood stove online from a small town in Kansas. I was lied to by him and his mother in-law.  As I was driving home with the stove, I realized that I had been cheated.  I was angry and depressed.  I felt like all decency in humanity was lost.  I thought to myself, how could such a reputable man in society be so deceptive?  I prayed to God and asked for comfort.  I asked God to show me light in such a dark world.  I needed hope.  I decided to contact the stove manufacturer to ask for help.  As I was researching the stove company online, I read a profile of one of the executives.  It read: “The best advice I ever received or have ever given: 1 Timothy 1:15-16.”

I couldn’t believe what I was reading.  I knew God was speaking to me.  I spoke with the executive on the phone and told him how impressed I was that he boldly let the world know about his faith in Jesus Christ, despite the negative impact that it could have on his career.  I shared with him my story about how I was lied to by the fire chief.  Four weeks later, 3 new wood stoves showed up at my door step.

We need to be very careful not to insult God’s mercy and grace.  God is patient, however, He does command us to be obedient.  Hebrews 10: 26-31* illustrates this.  God is so amazing.  We must stop sinning and be obedient to God. Praise God!  My name is Matthew and I surrender."

*Hebrews 10:26-31 26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. 28 Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him who said, "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," and again, "The LORD will judge his people." 31 It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
