“She was my childhood friend. I lost her to suicide in 2020. She was gone and I didn't know what to do or what to think about the situation. Seeing how life could end in just a second impacted my life. I had a big hole in my heart. I could really feel that hole, and I tried to fill it.
On my Instagram, there was a Christian influencer. She talked about the hole we may have in our heart and called it a God-shaped hole. She said you just need to know Jesus to fill your heart, to fill your empty places. This was the moment I started to learn a little bit more about Jesus. My growth in Christ has happened in increments. Jesus has produced patience in my life and helped me get rid of my bitterness.
My home church in Germany has a youth group. It motivates me when I see other Christians following Jesus in their faith journey. I had a friend in fifth grade that went to a free church community (Freikirche Gemeinde) that I did not go to. I was looking for a church, but I was too shy to go there on my own. My faith took me to traveling across the world to America! Jesus will take you places. You have to believe. You have to have trust. You have to have faith. My name is Lena, I'm human, and I surrender.”
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3
