"Jesus brought me through taking chemotherapy and radiation. I have a brain tumor. They also found I have colon cancer. In surgery they took out a foot and a half of my large intestine. Before the surgery, the doctor said, ‘Allen, I know that God is the only One that can heal you but I’m going to try to do my best to help things along.’ I thought wow, this is coming from the surgeon. That really gave me comfort. The colon cancer has metastasized to my liver.
My son was there when I had my second grand mal seizure in 2024, it was a miracle that he was even there. I couldn’t form words. I passed out and my face was turning blue. He got my tongue back out to where I could breathe again. I am currently getting radiation for my brain tumor. I also take oral chemotherapy.
I grew up reading the bible. I gradually developed a closeness with Jesus and His word. As an adult, I drifted away and started drinking a lot. I stopped drinking in 2010. There was a point when I realized I needed to get back on track. I started reading His word again. I’ve been doing it ever since. One of my favorite scriptures is Proverbs 27: 17 “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
Start reading His word and go from there. Stick with it. Read it over and over. Read it as much as you can. A person really needs to believe that the Bible is God's word. I truly believe that. My name is Allen, I'm human, and I surrender."
