"My husband left me after treating me badly for 15 years. I was so broken and I wanted him to hurt, too. During COVID I got a message that our handicapped daughter was exposed to COVID. I let my ex-husband know this and it somehow opened up the barriers between us because he told me that he was in the hospital for a ruptured colon and the relationship he was in was in trouble. I decided to pray for him and that he wouldn’t hurt anymore. Something then changed in my heart from wanting him to hurt as badly as he had hurt me. I continued to pray for him. In the end, all the bitterness, anger, hatred and hurt that I felt for him just disappeared. The prayers may not have changed him but it changed me. “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses. Mark 11:25-26” My sister told me that she has seen a big change in me. It inspired her to find a church. I got her into a "Bible in a Year" group and she has started other things within her church. My son does not know Jesus but I pray for him everyday. My name is Gail and I surrender."
