Tamekia

"She was going through cancer and was no longer near us. My mom had moved away to Arkansas. I was having to really depend on God.  I really had to lean on faith.  Surrender means not going by what I feel or by what the doctors report, but surrendering it all to God.  I surrendered my fear.  I let go of my doubts and I let go of all the pain that is associated with that.  I gave it all to God because I know He has the last say!  My mom has been cancer free for 7 years now.  I was in church one day and they talked about the parable that says the race is not given to the swift but to those who endure till the end,  so I wrote that in my locker at work and every single day I read that to myself.  "The race is not to the swift,Nor the battle to the strong, Nor bread to the wise, Nor riches to men of understanding,Nor favor to men of skill; But time and chance happen to them all", Ecclesiastes 9:11. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.", 2 Timothy 4:7. God has the last say.  Satan has brought all these things against my family but God says I am with you to the end’ and we have succeeded.  Get to know the Lord.  The enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy, especially in today's world, but God has you.  Get to know Him.  He wants a relationship with you.  My name is Tamekia and I surrender."
