Randy

“My very lowest rock bottom point of my life was when they kicked my front door and put an AR15 to my wife’s face. Meth has always been my drug of choice. On August 9th, 2012 I ended up getting busted. I was getting ready to get in the vehicle and I was surrounded. There were cops everywhere. I had a 9 mm pointed at both sides of my head. That scared me straight, or started the process anyway. December 25th, 2012 was a changing point. I went to my In-Law’s house for lunch. I walked in the door, took my coat off, and set it down on the edge of the couch. My wife’s dad got up, he grabbed me and gave me a big old hug. He started crying and wouldn’t let go. Later on, we’re all gathered around the dinner table. His prayer that day was that he put all hatred, animosity, bitterness, and negativity at the foot of the cross. He laid everything at the foot of the cross. July 13, 2013 was the last time I used. Over the next 6 months I ended up tapering down. About three o’clock in the morning I got up. I just finished smoking my last bowl of dope, looked at myself in the mirror, and said, ‘you’re an idiot.’ I went outside, stood out in the backyard, and just cried out to God. I said, ‘You got to take this away from me. You got to take it all from me. The wants, needs, and desires, every part.’ So, He did. In September of 2013 I ended up going into a recovery home down in Texas. I successfully completed the program. On March 18, 2014 I came home. Upon my release, my probation officer told me, out of the 400 meth amphetamine cases that he had dealt with, I was the first one to successfully complete probation. It’s really cool how God works. I believe God is my higher power. Let go and let God. My name is Randy and I surrender.”
