Annette

“When I was younger I learned Bible stories, but I really didn’t learn about having a personal relationship with Christ. I was too young and immature. I would say my relationship with Christ truly started when I was an adult going through the divorce. He beat me up several times and dislocated my jaw. I got to the point where I said, ‘God, help me, help me through this.’ There was a particular Sunday evening service that was the most meaningful to me, you could just feel the Holy Spirit in the church. It was that kind of church. People were moved to repent and dedicate their lives because the Spirit was there. Our pastor asked us to come and pray and kneel at the altar. I remember being moved to go. After I got to the altar, ladies that were spiritual leaders in the church came over and touched me. They prayed with me and over me. I distinctly remember hearing, ‘if you follow me, I will always protect you.’ It didn't occur to me until I was older what that really meant. ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ Jeremiah 29:11. It’s really about following Christ and believing in Him. He will protect us. I encourage people to take time to pray alone in their own space. Ask God to send them the wisdom that will give them reassurance. Talk to Him. Pause and listen. Listen to the response to your prayers. Take note. Have confidence that your action is done with the right intent, with Christ in mind. What would Jesus do? Jesus has plans for our welfare and to deliver us from evil. My name is Annette and I surrender.”
