“When I was about twelve years old, my great grandfather passed away. I was super depressed and angry. It was hard to go to church with a smile on my face. I was taught at a young age Isaiah 40:29-31 from ‘papa’. It says, ‘He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary.’ I think what my great grandfather was trying to say is that you want to soar through life. You're going to have a problem here and there. Just try to fly through that obstacle. My great grandfather told me God will always be there for you. That's what he always told me. He instilled that in me. Jesus has made me a lot better. I was born into a Christian family. I was baptized as a kid; I don't really remember it. I was also baptized a second time by River Hills when I went to CIY Move. It was incredible, it just felt amazing. I wanted something I could actually physically remember. When you're young, your mind doesn't always remember a lot of things. Jesus Christ is alive. He's not dead at all. He's everyday life. The Bible is a guide book, a survival book. Don't let the haters of the world affect your life or your relationship with Jesus. Just let it roll off your back. Soar like an eagle. My name is Chris and I surrender.”
