Jeremy

“I got arrested for minor in possession of alcohol, I was 19. It is embarrassing and shameful when you get your license taken away, you lose your job, and you have to leave college to go live with mom and dad, especially when your parents are Christians with a background working with youth ministries. I was playing two sides of the fence. I would party on Saturday and go to church on Sunday, usually with a hangover. I heard someone say, ‘you seem like an angel on Sunday and act like the devil on Monday.’ I was one of those. For me, this was rock bottom. My faith was never my own. It was never grounded because I wanted to have a real personal experience with God. I was a doubting Thomas, I wanted to stick my finger in His hand and really experience God tangibly. During that same time, a buddy of mine visited me at my parents’ house. He sat me down and said 'Jeremy, you need to change your life. You need to surrender to God, your life’s not going well.' He called me out. He was honest and I thanked God for him. It was what I needed to hear. My best friend and I went to New Zealand to a Discipleship Training School. Two weeks into it there was a woman who spoke and shared some of her miracle stories about how God had provided for that mission’s organization (click here to listen to the story). I realized that woman had no reason to lie. I was needing to see something tangible about what God was doing and here it was. I fell on my knees and sobbed. I gave my entire life to Christ and from that moment on I have been a missionary serving God, Trees 4 Kilimanjaro. I have seen God perform miracles and it has secured my faith. God is so faithful to prove Himself. Just give Him a chance. Just ask Him. If you are honest in your heart, God will reveal Himself to you. He is so kind. Matthew 6:33 really resonates with me; 'But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you’. 'All these things' is referring to food, shelter, clothing; the basics of life. God comes through! He is waiting at the door for you, Revelation 3:20. ‘If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. It is faith in God. From there, it is His job to clean us up. It is not what we do but what He did! My name is Jeremy and I surrender. Everything!!"
